Taking inspiration from Thomas Cole's painting series of the same name, Course of Empire is a project consisting of 5 woven linen "paintings", multiple planks of cedar and 2 potted succulents. The passage of time and temporal nature of events and objects is explored through a situational installation of the work, evolving in response to the architecture and environment in which it is housed.
